The Yellow River

The Yellow River is the second longest river in China. It length of the yellow river is about 3,395 miles. It originates in the Bayan Har Mountains which in the western China, and flows through nine provinces, then empties into the sea. It is also called Huang He which is originated from Western Han dynasty (206 BC–AD 9).  The word of He means river which has the same meaning of Jiang in Chinese and the word of Huang is actually coming from the color of this river.

The Yellow River plays a more important role in Chinese history compares to the Yangtze River. It is because that most people believe that the Chinese civilization originated in the Yellow River basin. So we called the Yellow river as "the Mother River" and "the cradle of the Chinese civilization”. There are less famous places along with the Yellow River than that of Yangtze River. While the first bay of the winding Yellow River which is attached on the post attracts lots people to see this scenery.
