The Over View of China (Two)

There are many large cities located in China. Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong are the most well known cities in China for the people around the world.

Beijing is the capital of the People's Republic of China and one of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China. Beijing has served as the political and cultural center of China since the People's Republic of China was founded.

Shanghai is the largest city in China and one of the most populous cities in the world. The city is located at the middle portion of the Chinese coast, and sits at the mouth of the Yangtze which is the longest river in China. Shanghai is a global city that exerts influence over global commerce, finance, culture and so on. When I talked to my friends in America, Shanghai was the most populous city they interested.

Hong Kong is one of the most densely populated areas in the world with a land mass of 1,104 km2 (426 sq mi) and a population of seven million people. China regained sovereignty of Hong Kong on July 1st 1997. Hong Kong is one of two special administrative regions (SAR) China; the other is Macau. Its economic and political systems differ from those of mainland China as the principle of “one country, two systems”.  One country means there would be only one China. Two systems means that areas such as Hong Kong and Macau could have their own capitalist economic and political systems, while the rest of China uses the "socialist" system.
